Stacy Wood: ‘There is No One-Size-Fits-All Incentive’
Stacy Wood, professor of marketing, believes that vaccine incentives have been more successful than originally thought. Wood’s research found that small incentives combined with immediacy will increase vaccination.
“People are wary of the pandemic as being overblown,” said Wood. “But if that person [who’s had COVID-19] is actually coming around and giving talks at your church or Toastmasters group or something where you can actually see them … I think there’s a lot of power there, because it takes that media filter away and makes people think that it’s much more trustworthy.”
