Bill Rand Weighs In on the Benefits of Airline Credit Cards
Consumers often struggle to understand when it makes sense to secure an airline credit card or a general-purpose travel rewards card. What can be even more complex is discerning whom airline credit cards benefit the most: consumers, credit card companies or the airlines themselves? Poole College’s Bill Rand, executive director of the Business Analytics Initiative and associate professor of marketing, gives his expert opinion.
According to Rand, “Consumers get great benefits if they have decided to fly exclusively with that airline, but to really take advantage of these cards they need to give up the flexibility and often the savings of being able to shop around on different airlines.”
