Chip Wentz is a Principal in the Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young (EY) LLP.  Chip currently leads the Cyber Analytics service offering globally for EY. Previously, Chip created and led the Data Protection sub-service line for the Americas Cyber practice.

Chip has over 20 years of experience advising corporate boards, executives and technical leaders in establishing comprehensive processes for managing and maturing global cyber security programs.  Chip has built and led high performance cross-functional teams focused on solving complex problems in high stress/high stakes environments. He successfully led and supported client engagements that were focused on assessing the cyber risk posture, developing transformation strategies for resiliency, and implemented appropriate people, process, and technology solutions to execute sustainable change.

Prior to returning to EY, Chip led the information security function for First Citizens BancShares, Inc., one of the largest publicly traded, family-controlled banks in the United States.  In that capacity, he was responsible for developing, implementing, and directing the organization’s information security program to effectively protect the information of the organization and the bank’s customers. While in this role, he provided the information security vision and leadership for the Bank.

Chip is a frequent speaker on related topics at industry events across the country.

Chip and his wife Ellen, reside in Cary, NC with their two sons.  Chip enjoys doing remodeling projects around his house. Chip also enjoys spending time with his kids coaching their soccer and baseball teams.
