What is Day of Giving?

NC State Day of Giving is an annual, daylong fundraising event that typically takes place in March. For 24 hours, the Wolfpack comes together to help NC State achieve more: creating greater opportunities, providing broader educational access, fostering bolder visions and conducting more innovative research. The collaborative aspect of NC State Day of Giving shows how much we can achieve together.

Help Us Win University Challenges

With challenges taking place all day and hourly on Day of Giving, as well as on social media before March 23, there are multiple opportunities to amplify your gift.

Give us a window into your world, Wolfpack! Watch our Instagram Stories Highlights to find out how snapping a photo with a cutout wolf can help us win a $1,500 bonus on the NC State Day of Giving.

Poole students who give on the Day of Giving will be entered into the drawing for a chance to become a dean of Poole College for one day. Dean Buckless will take the place of a student and will attend regular student activities. More chances to become a dean with each entry!

Mike ’84 ’85 and Lori ’85 Constantino will commit $250,000 to endow the Poole Faculty Enrichment Fund if we have 100 gifts to the fund between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. We are asking our community to “add a public message” to their gift and give a shout out to a faculty member who impacted their time at Poole.

The area with the highest number of gifts from students between 12 and 1 p.m. will earn $1,000.

Our faculty and staff are some of the most enthusiastic members of the Wolfpack, so we have a challenge just for them. The area with the most employee gifts between 2 and 3 p.m. will win this challenge for $1,000!

Poole College will be represented by two student organizations – American Marketing Association and Beta Alpha Psi – during a pilot fundraising competition between student groups across campus. Organizations will be competing to recruit the most gifts to their fundraising page throughout the day to win a piece of the $5,000 prize. Every dollar raised and won by our student organizations will be distributed to them following the Day of Giving.

Become Dean for the Day

Every Poole student donor will be entered into a raffle to win “Dean for the Day”. The student will be able to attend the dean’s meetings while Dean Buckless attends the student’s classes!

Description of Poole Funds

Designate your gift to Poole to one of the four strategic areas outlined below, or choose other areas of support at Poole.

Gifts to the Excellence Fund provide flexible funding to support the college’s areas of greatest need and mission-focused priorities as designated annually by the dean. The college’s ability to respond to immediate needs ensures we are empowering career-ready graduates and supporting faculty with producing purposeful research that generates new knowledge and drives economic development across North Carolina and the nation.

The Excellence Fund in Action:

  • Enhancing student experiences through sponsoring student competitions, organizing speaker series and providing funds to student organizations.
  • Providing special opportunities for Poole majors, such as the Business Analytics Honors Program to receive additional preparation for lucrative careers in the high-demand field of business analytics.
  • Renovations across the college from updated technology in classrooms to renovation of meeting and multi-use spaces including the newly opened Diversity Hub.

Poole College strives to financially support our students as they receive an extraordinary education in an innovative and collaborative intellectual environment while committing to create and support a diverse, equitable and inclusive atmosphere. Your gift to the General Scholarship Endowment provides financial assistance to current undergraduate and graduate students. Private support can be the difference between a student attending Poole College and being unable to do so.

Your support of the Faculty Enrichment Fund helps us recruit, retain and support our nationally recognized scholars and industry experts. You provide empowerment of our faculty so they can delve into research and create solutions to society’s problems while bringing industry insight into the classroom.

“Although our articles get recognized in the field, it is very special to have that work recognized in Poole College. NC State is where I want to stay and receiving an award really makes me feel appreciated in a way I didn’t necessarily expect, but really value. Honestly, receiving this award makes me decline to interview for external offers when approached.” — a faculty member in management, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Diversity Leadership Fund supports the creation of a culture where diversity thrives. Everyone in Poole College is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment; this includes new spaces, new identity-affirming events in addition to our existing ones and new identity-development programming.

Your support of other areas in the college advances our work and makes a difference for our students, faculty and research. Here, you can designate your gift to your fund or area of choice.

Every little bit counts. You wouldn’t be where you are today if somebody didn’t invest in you. Even if it’s only $20-30, be thoughtful about where you put your money.
