What is Day of Giving?

NC State Day of Giving is an annual, daylong fundraising event that typically takes place in March. For 24 hours, the Wolfpack comes together to help NC State achieve more: creating greater opportunities, providing broader educational access, fostering bolder visions and conducting more innovative research. The collaborative aspect of NC State Day of Giving shows how much we can achieve together.

New Records and Extraordinary Impact on NC State’s 6th Day of Giving

Donors gave 21,920 gifts, setting a record for the second year in a row and raising $46.6 million in support of students, faculty, programs, facilities, Extension, research and more.

Help Us Win University Challenges

With challenges taking place all day and hourly on Day of Giving, as well as on social media beforehand, there are multiple opportunities to amplify your gift.

Social Media Challenges

Participate on Facebook, LinkedIn Instagram and X by using #GivingPack and mentioning Poole College of Management. Here are some examples of social media challenges:

Give us a window into your world, Wolfpack! Take a photo framed by the paper or virtual wolf cutout available in the Day of Giving toolkit. Whether it’s a photo of a landmark in your city or a snap of the people you love, we want you to use the wolf frame to help us create a virtual Pack of wolves.

Wolfpack nation! Spread the Wolfpack spirit on Day of Giving by sharing a photo of you and/or your Pack holding up “wolfies” (making wolf ears with your fingers) or wearing NC State gear.

There are two ways to participate: 1) Comment your photo on the NC State University Facebook/LinkedIn page’s post about this challenge and mention the college, program or unit of your choice. 2) You can also enter by posting your photo publicly on Facebook, LinkedIn, X or Instagram, tagging @NCState’s profile on the platform, using #GivingPack and mentioning your college, program or unit of choice in the post. Two winners will earn an extra $1,000 each for their favorite college/unit.

Tell us something you love about NC State — why you chose it, a favorite memory, a shout-out to a friend, your favorite campus spot, etc. — and post it using the hashtag #GivingPack.

Participate on X and Instagram Stories.

This one’s for our Professional Pack. Whether you work at NC State or elsewhere, take a photo of yourself or your team working today. Enter by posting your photo as a comment on the NC State University LinkedIn page’s post about this challenge and mentioning the college, program or unit of your choice. You can also enter by posting the photo publicly on your personal LinkedIn account, tagging the NC State University LinkedIn page, using #GivingPack and mentioning your college, program or unit of choice in the post.

Giving Challenges

The college or unit with the most gifts from different members of the Poole community within the challenge hour wins extra funds!

Keep in mind that it’s not the size of the gifts given, it’s the total number of gifts given during this time. So give once, give twice, give throughout the hour to help your gift go further.

The Poole College Excellence Fund

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of donors, the Poole College Excellence Fund invests financial resources into high-impact experiences and access to innovative research that ensures students are career-ready as they enter the job market.

This fund also provides the college with immediate support to enhance our student and faculty engagement in order to maintain our position as the preeminent Think and Do business school, recognized for its teaching, research, and service.

The Excellence Fund in Action:

  • Enhancing student experiences through sponsoring student competitions, organizing speaker series and providing funds to student organizations.
  • Providing special opportunities for Poole majors, such as the Business Analytics Honors Program to receive additional preparation for lucrative careers in the high-demand field of business analytics.
  • Renovations across the college from updated technology in classrooms to renovation of meeting and multi-use spaces.

“Every little bit counts. You wouldn’t be where you are today if somebody didn’t invest in you. Even if it’s only $20, be thoughtful about where you put your money.”
