About
Each year, hundreds of students in our degree programs study abroad in 100+ locations around the world. Undergraduates can complete a summer, semester, or year abroad while earning credit toward their degree.
One out of every five students who go abroad at NC State is a Poole College student. Close to 33% of Poole students study abroad.
The Office of Global Programs, often referred to as Poole Global, started in 2010 to help students gain a global perspective in their management education.
Since that time, and through the continued support of the leadership of the college, Global Programs has grown and expanded to offer programs for all students. In 2019, the office moved from serving only undergraduate students to a college-wide initiative to support all students (graduate and undergraduate), as well as help support our faculty in engaging global academic partners in their research and teaching.
The Office of Global Programs is pleased to be the leader at NC State in the number of students who study abroad and the overall percentage of students. Though Poole College is one of the smaller colleges on campus, we send more students abroad than any other college. One out of every five students who go abroad at NC State is a Poole College student, and roughly 33% of Poole students study abroad.
We are also the first college to have an internal global team. Through strategic investments in staffing, Poole has created a global team that helps students. We know our students, we know our curriculum, and we know our partners. This combination has created a successful college-based model for global engagement.
We are pleased to engage and work with our students and faculty in our quest to offer engaging, transformative global experiences for Poole’s students.
