France: Art & Science of Negotiation in Paris

During the Art & Science of Negotiation program, NC State Jenkins Graduate students will enjoy a week of highly interactive classes at in the heart of Paris. Students are able to immediately practice and apply the course content through class simulations focusing on international negotiation issues. NC State students have the unique opportunity to network with their global counterparts, building an international professional network. From morning hotel views of the Eiffel Tower to free evenings in the city, students also have time to explore the seemingly unlimited number of museums, restaurants, and cultural experiences in Paris.

Applications for Spring Break 2025 are now closed. Spring Break 2026 programs will launch early in the Fall 2025 semester.

Academics

MBA 590: The Art & Science of Negotiation in France 

(3 credits, graded)

This course is designed to provide students with both a conceptual and practical understanding of interpersonal negotiations. Class sessions are highly interactive and require the active engagement of each student in order to successfully learn the multiple facets of negotiation. Course content includes:

  • the fundamentals of negotiation
  • distributive, integrative and multi-party negotiations
  • cognitive and emotional tactics
  • international cultural topics

Students will participate in one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many party negotiations with the complexity of negotiations increasing as the course progresses. Given the international setting of this course, many of the negotiation scenarios will focus on international issues.

 This course counts towards the Business Leadership Certificate
