Q: Why did you choose the Alexander Hamilton Scholars program?
A: [I chose the program] for the chance to meet other students with similar academic interests as well as the leadership opportunities.
Q: What is your favorite thing about the Alexander Hamilton Scholars program?
A: The people
Q: How has being a part of AHS prepared you for your future career?
A: [I have learned] time management. Having two majors has really helped me be able to juggle multiple upper level classes that are in different subjects. I am able to switch between topics really well, plus my time management has significantly improved.
Q: What did studying abroad teach you about yourself?
A: [It taught me] that you can still communicate with people if they do not speak the same language as you, and it is not scary. I learned that I enjoy the pace of European life more. Shopping for dinner on a daily basis is the best.
Q: Were you surprised by anything during your time abroad?
A: [I was surprised by] how easy it is to travel within the city and between countries without a car.
Q: Did you explore any other locations while you were studying abroad?
A: I went to Berlin, Germany; Vienna and Slazburg, Austria; Ljubljana, Slovenia; Budapest, Hungary; Oslo, Norway; Bristol, England; and Krakow, Poland.
Q: What experiences, skills, etc. has being a part of the program given you that you would not have had as a normal business or international studies student?
A: Having a personal advisor that you can work closely with has been beyond beneficial.
Q: What advice do you have for future Alexander Hamilton Scholars students?
A: Don’t get overwhelmed by all the classes you have to take and how to fit in studying abroad. Just take everything one semester at a time and enjoy the time you have because it will be over before you know it. Study abroad for an entire semester. Even if it sets you back a semester, it is so worth it.
