Admissions Requirements
In addition to being admitted to the Poole College, students must:
- Demonstrate a commitment to becoming conversationally fluent in the desired language track.
- Meet with the Director of Global Programs, Mr. Robert Sandruck, for an informational interview
- Visit NC State and take the foreign language placement test or complete the AP test in designated language before attending NC State.
Once admitted to the program students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to go abroad to the partner school.
Advanced Placement/IB Scores
Students who take AP/IB courses during high school are encourage to take the subject matter tests for the courses. NC State requires various scores on different subject matter for AP and IB. Please check their respective websites for specific scores on each subject.
For the IBDD students are encouraged to take the following AP/IB courses if they are available
- Psychology
- Calculus
- Statistics
- Foreign Language
- English
- Economics
* Students entering the Italian track can start at a lower level language class if they have taken up to four years of Spanish or Latin in high school, or the equivalent.
Application Information
When applying for admission to NC State University, high school students completing the Common Application should select ‘business administration-international business dual degree’ as their intended major.
