Adam is the current assistant director of marketing for the Master of Management program, which includes the Master of Management, Marketing Analytics concentration and the Master of Management, Risk and Analytics concentration.

“Poole College’s active engagement with industry supports our efforts to provide students with practical, applied learning experiences that enable them to see the direct correlation between their contributions and the company’s performance. Adam will be helping to tell that story,” said Richard Warr, Poole College’s associate dean for faculty and research and professor of finance.

Tompkins comes to the college with significant prior marketing and communications experience. After completing a marketing internship with Oxford University Press, he was a business and marketing instructor for the Wake County Public School System for three years and a freelance digital marketer and writer.

He then worked at Duke University, providing a wide range of communications services, including writing for newsletters, websites, social media and brand awareness campaigns, as well as alumni engagement programs.

His new role brings Tompkins back to his alma mater; he received his bachelor’s degree from NC State in 2013, in business administration with a concentration in marketing.
