Nominate an outstanding graduating student by March 9. Faculty, staff, and peers are encouraged to submit nominations. Self-nominations are not considered. Winners will be celebrated in April.

Undergraduate Student Awards

Poole College Award for All-Around Excellence

This award is for a student who has made an exemplary contribution to Poole College and/or NC State across multiple domains including academic achievement, involvement in Poole College organizations, and service to the community. 

Eligibility: Any student who is graduating (or has graduated) in the academic year (Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026). Students may be nominated by other students or faculty/staff; self-nominations will not be considered.

Poole College Award for Impactful Scholarship

This award is for a student who has contributed to impactful research and/or scholarship while at Poole College. Impactful research/scholarship includes the conduct of research, application of discipline-related knowledge to solve a critical problem (e.g. in a practicum), or educating key stakeholders in a way that makes them more effective at their work (e.g. working with a non-profit organization and teaching their employees the latest business tools). 

Eligibility: Any student who is graduating (or has graduated) in the academic year (Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026). Students may be nominated by other students or faculty/staff; self-nominations will not be considered.

Poole College Award for Excellence in Innovation 

This award is for a student who demonstrates innovative thinking and action that makes a positive impact to Poole College. The student’s impact on Poole College can be in any area (for example: academics, student organizations, college processes, external relations.). 

Eligibility: Any student who is graduating (or has graduated) in the academic year (Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026). Students may be nominated by other students or faculty/staff; self-nominations will not be considered.

Poole College Award for Leadership  

This award is for a student who has exemplified leadership in Poole College and the NC State community. Leadership may be demonstrated through leading and motivating a group to achieve significant goals that align with one or more of the values listed above.

Eligibility: Any student who is graduating (or has graduated) in the academic year (Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026). Students may be nominated by other students or faculty/staff; self-nominations will not be considered. 

Poole College Award for Resilience

This award is for a student who has demonstrated resilience when confronted with obstacles during their college experience and utilized resources, grit and determination to overcome those obstacles. 

Eligibility: Any student who is graduating (or has graduated) in the academic year (Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026). Students may be nominated by other students or faculty/staff; self-nominations will not be considered.

Graduate Student Awards

Jenkins Graduate Student Impact Award

This award is for individuals who have positively impacted their peers and their program community. Recipients have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills through program engagement, extracurricular activities, mentoring and/or volunteering. 

Eligibility: Any student who is graduating (or has graduated) in the academic year (Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026). Students may be nominated by other students or faculty/staff; self-nominations will not be considered.
