Marie serves the Poole College Career Center by providing operational support for employer engagement, career programming, and events that connect students with employers and alumni. She enjoys building relationships, facilitating meaningful connections, and helping create opportunities that contribute to students’ academic and professional success.
Before joining NC State, Marie spent more than 20 years working across nonprofit leadership, think tanks, international development, and education. Her career has focused on building cross-sector partnerships and expanding educational and economic opportunities for underserved communities, including working with entrepreneurs and business associations throughout the Middle East. Her work and publications have examined women’s leadership and the roles women play in conflict and peacebuilding, reflecting her broader interest in how power, access, and agency shape communities and institutions.
In addition to her role at NC State, Marie is an adjunct instructor at Wake Technical Community College, where she teaches Intro to International Relations. Across her work, Marie is passionate about strengthening pathways to social and economic mobility and helping people and communities build the knowledge, connections, and resources they need to shape their own futures.
