This exciting and engaging program explores entrepreneurship opportunities in the United Kingdom and how entrepreneurs in the U.S.A and the U.K. have similar or differing ideas, perspectives and outcomes. Students will learn about the English culture and business through corporate visits, lectures with local professors and exploration of multiple cities in the U.K.

Courses

MIE 419 | Entrepreneurship Practicum
Application of entrepreneurship skills and knowledge to plan an entrepreneurial venture envisioned by the student. This course is the capstone course for the Minor in Entrepreneurship. The final deliverable includes an evaluation of the project and a formal presentation that includes a summary of the work completed and the implications of that work each student’s project. 

M 380 | Doing Business Globally
This experiential course combines in-class learning with out-of-classroom experiences to learn how business is done from multiple perspectives. *The M 380 course fulfills 3 credits of the interdisciplinary degree requirements for all NC State students. In addition, it counts as an elective for the business administration minor.

Pre-Requisites

MIE 410 is a required prerequisite for this program.

Academic Considerations

  • All courses are NC State courses and the grade earned in the course will count toward NC State GPA.
  • Review your degree audit to determine how courses will count for your major or minor. This program is designed for Poole majors and minors but all NC State students are welcome to apply.
