Drop-In Hours

The Peer Career Coaches hold drop-in hours each semester.  For the Spring 2025 semester, drop-in hours will be offered in person in Nelson Hall 2150 or by appointment in Nelson 1133.

Christina DeBerardino

Associate Director of Undergraduate Career Services

Educational Background: Master’s of Labor Relations and Human Resources and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University.
Work Experience/Professional Accolades: Transitioned into career services and higher education, specifically in the areas of professional and career development, career counseling, and employer relations, after
several years working in corporate human resources. Associate Director of Undergraduate Career Services, Assistant Director of Career Development, Course
Coordinator and Instructor for M120, Professional Development and Career Planning, and Career Coach at Poole College of Management, NC State University. Adjunct Instructor, Professional Development Seminar III at William Peace University. Human Resources Manager at Jervis B. Webb, Johnson Controls, Omega Solutions and 5 Star Engineering corporations in Michigan. Areas of HR focus included talent acquisition, performance management, salary compensation systems, and training and development.
Interests: Career Services Strategy and Branding, Curriculum and Program Development,
Undergraduate Student Engagement, Professional Development, Employer Relations,
and Student Success.
Travelling, cooking, entertaining, and spending time with family and friends.

Julie Cline

Assistant Director of Undergraduate Career Services

Educational Background: Master’s of Higher Education in Student Personnel Administration from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Bachelor of Science in Interpersonal Communication, Minor in English Literature from Appalachian State University,  Associate of Arts from Guilford Technical Community College.
Work Experience/Professional Accolades: Administrative Assistant with Elon University School of Law Career Development Center, assisting law students and alumni with career development and career program development. 
Graduate Intern at Elon University, The North Carolina at Greensboro, and Western Carolina assisting with End of Year reporting, Job Application materials, Career Fairs, and Employer Development. I was the Assistant Director of Career Development, Internship Program Manager, Internship Curriculum Development, Employer Outreach, and Professional Development Instructor at William Peace University. 
I also have a background in Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, and Retail Sales.
Interests: Transfer Students, Mental Health in the Workplace, Gamification of Career Development concepts, Program and Curriculum Development, Career Exploration and Career Resources.

Megan Joyner

Career Coaching Coordinator


Educational Background: Graduate Certificate in Business from Meredith College’s John E. Weems Graduate School. Bachelor of Arts Degree from Peace College (William Peace University).
Work Experience: She has a dynamic background in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition as well as a successful track record in clinical research, higher education, and consulting. Megan was also a Professional Development Instructor for William Peace University.
Interests: As an active enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, Megan is always finding ways to connect and give back to her Indigenous culture. She and her wife also dedicate their time to volunteering with local animal rescues.

Administrative Support Associate


Educational Background:  Bachelor of Arts from UNCW in Theatre Performance with a minor in Creative Writing.
Work Experience: She has experience as an Accounting Assistant, Guest Service Agent, Personal Assistant, and Film Extra.
Interests: Event planning, creative problem solving, theatre & film, and animals.

Lauren McGuire

Graduate Teaching Assistant and Career Coach


Educational Background:  Current Ph.D. student in  the Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development program in the College of Education at NC State.
Work Experience: She has experience working in quantitative education research, student affairs, and consulting. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University in Urban and Regional Planning and a Master of Public Policy from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. 
Interests: Research behind the higher education pipeline, civic engagement and education, and needs securities (food, clothing, housing, transport) availability for postsecondary students.

Connie Fowler

Employer Relations Manager

Educational Background: Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina State University in Business Management. Masters from Meredith College in Business Administration.
Work Experience: She began her operations career leading a team of 10 customer service/billing representatives with PennCorp Financial and moved to Lulu Enterprises during a high growth period, building their customer service department from one representative to 17 over an 18-month period.
Interests: Travel, NC State, Professional Development, and connecting with the community.

Julia Lanpher

Recruiting Coordinator


Educational Background:  Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
Work Experience: She has experience across various companies including roles in digital marketing management, B2B partnership programming and management and developing marketing collateral.
Interests: Event planning, brand awareness and design, B2B marketing.
