About Our Program

Poole College’s Business Analytics Concentration will offer a one-of-a-kind curriculum designed to equip students with the skills needed for success in today’s data-driven business landscape.

With courses in foundational statistics and advanced AI methodologies, this program will prepare students to excel in collecting, analyzing and visualizing data. Students will also learn how to effectively communicate their findings to a variety of business stakeholders.

Curriculum Overview and Degree Requirements

Starting their coursework as management students (for first-year students) or in a major (for transfer students), students in the Poole College of Management have ample time to explore their passions, interests and opportunities in the field of business analytics.

Poole College’s Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Concentration in Business Analytics, requires students to complete 120 credits toward the degree, comprising general education, business administration and business analytics courses. 

  • The Business Administration major provides a broad education in key business areas, with core courses in accounting, entrepreneurship, operations and supply chain management, human resources management, finance and marketing — along with a capstone business strategy course.
  • The business analytics concentration (requires 15 credits) rounds it out with specialized knowledge specific to the business analytics discipline.

Career Opportunities in Business Analytics

Choosing the business analytics concentration will help you tap into the surging demand for career-ready graduates in corporate environments. According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median annual salary for management/business analysts stood at $104,660 as of May 2022. Projections indicate a remarkable 11% increase in demand for management analysts from 2021 to 2031 — significantly outpacing the average growth rate for all occupations.

The BLS underscores the intense competition for management analyst roles owing to the field’s lucrative earning potential. In our Business Analytics Honors program, graduates command a salary approximately 20% higher than their counterparts.
