Undergraduate Student Advisory Board

Created in spring 2022, the Undergraduate Student Advisory Board at the NC State Poole College of Management provides input about strategic decisions that guide the college’s future to ensure lifelong student success.

Mission

Help administrators enhance the student experience through immersive real-world opportunities such as more practicums and internships, regular mentoring and other career-preparation initiatives.

Members

The board consists of 17 undergraduate students who give feedback on how Poole moves forward with initiatives to remain vibrant and competitive in the changing higher education landscape. Membership on the advisory board provides students with valuable leadership opportunities that could help them as they start their careers.

New member applications February 4, and new members will be announced on April 1.

Established by the Undergraduate Student Advisory Board at Poole in 2023, the Graduating Class Gift is a merit-based, annual scholarship awarded to a current Poole College freshman by the preceding year’s graduating class. Future Plans: plans to travel to multiple countries with friends and work toward pursuing MBA

Evie AuBuchon

Academics: senior, accounting major, anthropology minor.

Involvement: member, Beta Alpha Psi

Internship: intern, FORVIS

Future Plans: masters in accounting, hopefully at NC State

Outside of class: TA for Intermediate Accounting I & II

Kylie Batcha

Academics: senior, business administration major, IT concentration, accounting minor

Involvement: vice president, Kappa Kappa Gamma

Outside of class: music, antiquing, reading, thrifting

Future Plans: work with humanitarian analytics to better the human condition

Hannah Jackson

Academics: senior, business administration major, marketing concentration, graphic communications and art & design minor.

Involvement: fellow, University Honors Program; Treasurer for Poole Student Advisory Board; student worker for Associate Dean Anand

Internship: marketing intern, Atlantic Packaging; intern for Scott Insurance

Outside of class: enjoys going for long walks, everything beach painting, and is an avid reader

Hannah Justice

Academics: Junior, accounting, minoring in psychology

Involvement: member of Beta Alpha Psi

Future Plans: I would like to work in fraud/money laundering investigation

Outside of class: In my downtime, I enjoy bouldering, archery, and reading

Jon Pogatchnik

Academics: junior, business administration major, finance concentration, accounting minor

Outside of class: enjoys golfing, skiing, and researching new investment opportunities

Julia Scruggs

Internship: intern, Sterling Capital Management in Charlotte, NC.

Future Plans: returning to Sterling Capital to work full-time as a internal client strategist

David Stiles

Future Plans: obtain a masters degree in accounting, eventually take the CPA exam

Gladys Taylor

Involvement: Poole Ambassador Poole, Career Coach, 1887 Scholar

Internship: intern with the Real Estate Development Center

Future Plans: I hope to make the most of my time here by trying new things and networking with those in my industry

Kearns Trotter

Academics: sophomore, business administration major, finance concentration, accounting minor

Involvement: member, University Honors Program, Student Leadership Team and The Summit Church

Future Plans: pursue a MS in education administration after graduation, hopes to eventually work as an assistant superintendent or superintendent

Outside of class: enjoys pickleball, basketball, and spending time with family and friends

Asa Humphries

Academics: junior, business administration, finance concentration, double-major accounting

Involvement: co-founder of the Queer Business Student Association

Internship: accounting intern at Grubb Properties in Charlotte, North Carolina

Future Plans: travel around the U.S. upon graduation

Outside of class: enjoys being in nature, traveling, thrifting, and photography
